FITNESS CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
Cardiovascular Training
Boot Camp: Get ready to sweat with basic sport specific movements and cardio drills. Have fun with extremely athletic and challenging movements that merge functional training, weight training, interval drills, and running that will “whip you into shape”!
Boxaerobics: This class combines boxing techniques along with interval training to develop muscle and cardiovascular endurance. Participants will use weights, mats, jump ropes, medicine balls and other equipment for a full body workout.
Functional Boot Camp: In the case of this extreme class, function means purpose and functionalism means exercise with a purpose. This class will lead individuals through an obstacle course comprised of exercises to enhance coordination, balance, cardio, strength, and core. Exercises will encompass multi-joint movements so as to challenge individual functional performance. This class requires you to come with a partner (of the same sex) and requires a minimum attendance of four people.
Heart ‘n’ Body: A combination of aerobic/resistance training via alternating cardio and toning exercises. Resistance bands, med balls & free weights are used. Get your heart rate up to your fat-burning zone and improve muscular strength and endurance!
Kickboxing: De-stress in this fun, pre-designed, non-contact kickboxing interval class using no equipment. Cardio and strength based with an intense energy sprint for the ultimate challenge.
Ultimate Fighting Club: Think you can keep up? Let the challenge begin! Experience similar stamina and endurance training that is essential in the high paced world of mixed martial arts. Participants cannot be diabetic or hypertensive and must have good cardiovascular health, no previous injuries or joint problems.
Hip Hop Step & Sculpt: Feel the energy/funk it up with combined cardio and muscle defining exercises using basic step apparatus, high-low aerobics and sculpting to the latest in Hip Hop tunes.
Dance
Cardio Hip Hop: Enjoy learning funky hi-energy dance combinations while getting fit! Funky dance moves to current music will get your heart pumping. By the end of the class you will feel like a music video star! No prior dance experience necessary.
Latin Rhythms: Have fun and de-stress as you learn salsa, merengue, cha-cha and more in a high-energy, easy-to-follow class taught by a professional Latin Dance choreographer. No dance experience is necessary, just lots of energy and a love for all the latest Latin music dance hits!
Merengue Sculpt: This class incorporates merengue, salsa and some carribean moves for 30 to 45 minutes of fun-filled, non-stop experience that will be sure to get your heart pumping! Class will conclude with 15 minutes of no-nonsense muscle-toning exercises. No previous dance experience required.
Zumba Sculpt: Combines high energy Latin music and unique combinations interchanged with resistance and circuit training exercises. Have tons of FUN as you maximize caloric expenditure while improving muscular and cardio strength and endurance! No previous dance experience is required.
Strength, Core, Resistance Training & Stretching
Abs Etc.: A 30-minute abdominal, mid-section and lower back workout. Perfect before or after your cardio workout!
Cable-Circuit: This class is conducted on our open-fitness floor and incorporates timed interval circuits which enhance muscle definition and cardiovascular endurance. Participants will alternate between use of cable pulley-stations and body weight exercises.
Cardio-Sculpt: This 30-30 challenge offers equal halves of “fat burning/heart pumping” and “muscle sculpting” exercise to make for 60 solid- minutes of well-rounded exercise.
Core Conditioning: Challenge your abdominals, lower back, and total core area. Use resistance bands, free weights, the Bosu balance trainer, stability and medicine balls for sculpting moves that are sure to strengthen and tone your entire body. Everybody is welcome!
Core Fusion: This class concentrates mainly on strengthening the entire core, which is essential for optimal daily activities. Use of the “Stability Balll is a fantastic tool to challenge core stability, increase balance and body awareness and give a great aerobic and full body conditioning workout . This class will also integrate use of the the Medicine Ball, which is another very effective apparatus for core strengthening. Challenging for all levels!
Gutz & Butz: This is a “below the belt” workout designed to target those hard to reach gluts, abs, and core sections!
Lower Body Work: 30 minutes of intense training of the legs, glutes, thighs and lower back to sculpt and strengthen your lower body to perfection. Perfect for all fitness levels!
Strength Interval: Get ready for serious body conditioning with this muscle toning workout consisting of quick transitions from one station to the next using apparatus such as body bar, Swiss ball, bands and more!
Stretch ‘n Tone: Tone all those hard to reach places and improve your flexibility and core strength. Great for all levels!
Total Body Stretch: Tight muscles? Take 30 minutes to thoroughly stretch and relax all those hard-working body parts. You deserve it - And your body will thank you!
Total Body Work: Need extra motivation? No problem! Get a full body workout and a lot of motivational coaching using dumbbells, body bars, resistance bands Swiss balls and more. Learn proper body mechanics and weight training techniques that will make you look toned and feel strong – you will see and feel the difference! All fitness levels are welcome!
Total Definitions: Pure muscle toning and conditioning using equipment such as resistance bands, the Bosu ball, stability balls, mat work, body bars, and more! Guaranteed to make your body tighter and stronger!
Upper Body Work: Give your arms, shoulders, chest and back a complete workout in 30 minutes. Ideal for anyone looking to sport sleeveless tops ‘in style’.
Cycling
Cycling ‘n Sculpt: Improve your cardiovascular fitness, muscle strength and tone. Stationary cycling drills on the LeMond RevMaster bike are combined with creative muscle toning exercises performed off the bike. Get all your day’s cardio and strength training in 60 minutes or less!
Cycling Plus: A true physical challenge! Get ready for 1.5 hrs of working out. 45min of cycling followed by 45min of resistance training. Sweat off those bad decisions this week in a heart pumping, calorie incinerating, AED finding work out!
Studio Cycling: Experience this athletic, adrenaline-pumping group workout performed on the LeMond RevMaster stationary bike with high energy music. It will make you feel like a cycling pro!
Stride Ride: Designed to aid participants in building cardio endurance and conditioning skills specific to outdoor cycling! Members ride as a TEAM & aim to achieve the "TEAMS GOAL"! Focus is on a variety of conditioning targets, ranging from hill climbing to strength and endurance training!
Psych’ling: This class aids participants in applying "mental imagery" and "visualization" to help train your mind as hard as your body. Experience the athletic workout you expect from cycling in a whole new way.
Yoga/Mind-Body
Anusara Yoga: A Hatha yoga system where the human spirit powerfully blends with the science of biomechanics and the universal principles of alignment. This non-dual Tantric philosophy is epitomized by a “celebration of the heart”. Come and explore the possibilities!
Ashtanga Yoga: Strength, stamina & sweat are unique to this traditional practice taught in sequential order, focusing on detoxification & body alignment. Great for highly-disciplined yoga practitioners!
De-stress/Restore Yoga: Release stress; restore mind, body & spirit for optimal performance before returning to the office.
Gentle Yoga: Designed for those who need time to relax, de-stress or get an energy boost, this class follows a slower but just as effective practice to strengthen the muscles while calming the body and mind. No yoga experience required!
Lunchtime Yoga: This one-hour lunchtime class is designed for participants of all fitness levels so as to offer an option to “break from the workplace”, nurture the body and soul. You may walk in or out as needed to fit your work schedule.
Move n Groove Yoga: Move your body, cool the mind and ignite your spirit with this Friday “Happy Hour” special. Upbeat musical rhythms and positive lyrics will aid you in connecting to your inner pulse and opening to complete expression during each individual pose!
Power Flow Yoga: Take yoga to the next level in this intense workout which combines Ashtanga and Vinyasa Flow disciplines with intermediate-advanced poses. Recommended for yoga practitioners who are ready to take their practice to the next level! Two levels are available for this practice.
Rise & Shine Yoga: Begin your day with guided imagery, meditation and a blending of your spiritual-self with the universal principles of body alignment.
Tai Chi: This class is designed to enhance mind-body awareness through deep breathing and postures which flow from one to the next. This series of slow, continuous movements aids to improve of focus and reduction in stress levels.
Tai Chi (Smoking Cessation): This class has been developed as part of a smoking cessation “research project” and therefore only open to “paid participants”.
Vinyasa Yoga: Vinyasa means “breath synchronized with movement” and will harness the power of breath to flow through movements for the entire class. Finish with a relaxation that will leave you refreshed and renewed. Be sure to take note of the various class levels offered (1-beginner/intermediate and 2 -intermediate/advanced, depicted on the class schedule.
Aquatics
Aqua Workout: Increase aerobic, strength and flexibility conditioning using aqua “toys” and equipment in the swimming pool. Perfect for all fitness levels! No swimming experience required.
Pilates
Mat Pilates: A cross conditioning system designed to shape your legs, hips, back, chest and arms with a precise focus on strengthening your abdominals and your back. Great compliment to any workout! Pilates will transform, re-define and shape your body into a long, lean and athletic streamlined physique without developing “bulky” muscles.
Pilates Core Training: Combines challenging strength and body-sculpt conditioning exercises with pilates-based core work to create lean muscle mass and a more flexible body.
